Not Everybody is a Fan of my 'hCG Diet Was a Horrible Experience' Blog

After my horrible experience with the hCG diet, I've been blogging about everything I learn. People send me messages or emails sharing their own experiences or something they've learned about the diet which I then share on my blog.

As I've said before, the hCG diet internet experience is pretty one sided. Most health forums won't even allow posts on the subject because the diet is not only illegal but dangerous. That leaves pretty much just hCG forums to share informaton on this diet. Well, hCG diet forums are not great places for balanced information. I did the Omnitrition version of the diet and watched post after post after post get deleted. I was pretty much just a lurker so they weren't my posts but when anybody posted valid concerns or serious side effects, the posts were deleted. You weren't even allowed to complain about the horrible taste of their products because they'd delete the posts. Side effects were denied by distributors and you're always told they are not from the diet. You clearly had this problem before the diet. Many distributors are unkind once you do have serious problems with the diet and many friendships are being lost because of this diet. It's crazy.

I did only a month on this diet and developed serious health issues. My heart was affected and I ended up going through a month and a half of iron infusions at the local cancer center. My blood pressure was very low and my period on this was so bad I felt like I was continuously going to pass out. There were numerous other side effects as well. I went through months of doctor appointments and treatments. This diet was a ginormous (love that word!) mistake.

And, so I've shared my story. After sharing my story, I started getting messages from other women thanking me and sharing their own stories. It almost felt like a support group because you certainly don't get support when you have side effects from the hCG crowd. And, that is why I keep sharing. There just really needs to be a balance to the information out there on this dangerous diet. No doubt this doesn't make me popular with those selling the diet. My hope is simply that you'll take what you learn and, if still interested in pursuing this diet, talk to your doctor. You two can work out if this is right for you or not.

Oh, and let me add, despite eating below my basil metabolic rate (my resting rate), all the weight came back plus a little extra for good measure. That's probably the most common problem I hear from women in their messages. This diet makes you fat!

Like I've said, I receive numerous messages and comments. Most are just from women who are going through or gone through a bad experience with this diet. Some are from friends and relatives really worried about somebody they know doing or selling this diet. I do get some messages from Omnitrition distributors and, no big deal, mostly they are deleted because they aren't always very kind or they are still pushing their diet (amazingly enough) on me.

I decided to share one of these messages. It sort of sums up the feeling of the other deleted messages nicely.

"Wow, It sounds to me like you didn't follow the diet,
or take the other supplements along with the drops,
obviously didn't do the last part right, and regained
your weight. Then got angry at your own downfalls
and decided to go on a rampage against the company...I
really like how you use a lot of speculation,
putting ridiculous thoughts into people's impressionable
minds...shame on you! "

And this sums up why I keep writing this blog.
