Death by hCG Diet

Death by hCG Diet

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

I was told at one point that you would likely never know the true cost of the hCG diet because when somebody dies it will be recorded as heart attack or what have you. We've already determined, the hCG drops are pretty bogus. You aren't going to have a medical examiner say that clearly that little teeny bottle of purified water clearly killed that person. However, the 500-calorie diet can cause a heart attack or stroke as can be found by the numerous stories online. But, since there is no way to test to see if they were taking that little bottle of water and because so many people are secretive about doing this diet (unless they are selling it), the medical examiner has no way to know that this was even a factor. I'm guessing there have been a number of deaths as a result of this diet and nobody was ever the wiser.

Sadly, this gal did die while doing this diet. Fortunately she had told her husband she was doing it so he knew and could pass along that information:

Heartbreaking because I have no doubt her husband would do anything to have her back extra lbs and all.

JOANNSCHW7/17/2013 4:27PM These Omnitrition people are like a cult! I got unfriended by 2 people recently because I shared the post you are referencing about the woman who died from the diet. I started reading parts of the Pounds and Inches document and I can't believe people can fall for such nonsense!

CARIKAY7/10/2013 7:06PM I was talked into it and managed to do one month of this crazy diet. I developed so many health problems as a result. I've never had serious side effects from a diet. This is a dangerous diet!

LIVERGIVER7/10/2013 3:08PM At the end of the day, it's hard to believe that any weight lost in such an extreme fashion could possibly STAY off. Without long-term and sustainable changes in living, this on and off weight gain and loss must have a stressful effect on organs and body systems.

SUCCESS_IN_20137/10/2013 11:18AM Its crazy that a doc would TELL you to go on a diet that is that calorie restricted.
