What Can You Do if You are Concerned about or have been hurt by the hCG Diet?

What Can You Do if You are Concerned about or have been hurt by the hCG Diet?
Saturday, June 22, 2013
Yesterday, I posted about what I hoped to gain by sharing my terrible hCG Diet experience. People selling the diet want to know why I am doing so. I think I've covered that fairly well now.
Another question people ask and, believe me, this one is not asked by distributors, is what can I do if this diet has harmed me or I think it is harming somebody I love or know. In fact, this is a very common question. People have very real concerns about what this diet has done to them or loved ones.
Let me just say, the hCG diet is illegal. Because my experience is with Omni Drops from Omnitrition, I am primarily talking to those people who are taking the hCG drops. They are bogus. They are a fraud. They are illegal. You need to know this. You need to know that that your concern is valid!
You have several choices here:
- You can walk away. Say nothing. Let your friend continue on their diet. Don't tell others about your side effects. Most people never 'fessed up in the first place to doing this diet. They knew deep down that something was wrong with it so it is easy to walk away from it and move on with nobody the wiser.
- You can report any website or Facebook page pushing the product to the FDA: webcomplaints@ora.fda.gov They will investigate.
- If you've been harmed by this diet and had serious side effects, you may fill out an Adverse Events report online: https://www.accessdata.fda.gov/scrip
ts/medwatch/medwatch-online.htm or by phone: 800-FDA-1088 (800-332-1088)
In fact, here is what the FDA says:
"FDA advises consumers who have purchased homeopathic HCG for weight loss to stop using it, throw it out, and stop following the dieting instructions. Harmful effects should be reported online to FDA's MedWatch program or by phone at 800-FDA-1088 (800-332-1088) and to the consumer's health care professional."
Your report is anonymous.
- Leave a review online about this product. This is why so many people fall for this scam. When you do a search online for Omnitrition, you get glowing reviews done by people selling the diet. One page, not by Omnitrition, is near the top of all searches and people are leaving 'real' reviews of the diet. Of course, distributors are trying to counter any and all negative stories but the page gives a more balanced view of the diet. If you'd like to leave your own review:
